Classic Cheesecake

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 24 ounces cream cheese (softed)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 10 ounces sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 combine crumbs and butter, press into buttered spring form pan, bottom and sides.
  • 2 beat cream cheese until fluffy. gradually blend in sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, and salt.
  • 3 add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  • 4 pour filling into crumb crust.
  • 5 bake at 325 until set (for about an hour).
  • 6 while cheesecake is baking, combine sour cream, sugar, and vanilla, spoon over top of cooked cheesecake.
  • 7 bake 10 mins longer.
  • 8 cool in oven.
  • 9 chill for several hours before serving.
  • 10 top with cherries, strawberries, or leave it plain.
