Brie With Glazed Almonds

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 2 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 (14 ounce) brie round, room temperature (reserve original container and line with foil)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup sliced unblanched almonds
  • 10 seedless grapes, halved
  • 6 bunches red seedless grapes (to garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 scrape rind from top of cheese.
  • 2 sift 1 tablespoon powdered sugar evenly over surface.
  • 3 arrange sliced almonds over top, pressing firmly into place.
  • 4 *can be prepared 1 day ahead at this point, returned to container and refrigerated. remove from container and bring to room temperature before proceeding.*.
  • 5 preheat broiler and line a baking sheet with foil.

  • 8 broil 6 inches from heat source, turning cheese as necessary , until top is evenly browned.about 1 to 2 minutes. * watch carefully as sugar carmelizes quickly!*.
  • 9 using foil as aid, transfer cheese to serving platter.
  • 10 cut away as much foil as possible.
  • 11 arrange grape halves in center of cheese, garnish with the bunches of grapes and serve.
