Brie With Glazed Almonds

Ingredients

- 1 (14 ounce) brie round, room temperature (reserve original container and line with foil)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup sliced unblanched almonds
- 10 seedless grapes, halved
- 6 bunches red seedless grapes (to garnish)
Recipe
- 1 scrape rind from top of cheese.
- 2 sift 1 tablespoon powdered sugar evenly over surface.
- 3 arrange sliced almonds over top, pressing firmly into place.
- 4 *can be prepared 1 day ahead at this point, returned to container and refrigerated. remove from container and bring to room temperature before proceeding.*.
- 5 preheat broiler and line a baking sheet with foil.
- 6 sift remining 1 tablespoon powdered sugar evenly over cheese.
- 7 transfer to baking sheet.
- 8 broil 6 inches from heat source, turning cheese as necessary , until top is evenly browned.about 1 to 2 minutes. * watch carefully as sugar carmelizes quickly!*.
- 9 using foil as aid, transfer cheese to serving platter.
- 10 cut away as much foil as possible.
- 11 arrange grape halves in center of cheese, garnish with the bunches of grapes and serve.
