Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cold
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, firm but not cold
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar, shifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • milk, if necessary

Recipe

  • 1 cream together cream cheese, butter, and salt until light and fluffy, about three minutes.
  • 2 slowly add in sifted confectioners sugar a little at a time until completely incorporated.
  • 3 once sugar is fully incorporated add vanilla extract.
  • 4 do not over beat or the frosting will become too dense.
  • 5 if necessary, add milk 1/2 tsp at a time to become more spreadable.
