Delicious Cheesy Sausage Brunch Casserole

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lbs small lamb breakfast sausage (casings removed)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 10 slices bread (cubed, use day-old bread)
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups half-and-half cream (or use full-fat milk)
- 1 teaspoon salt (or use seasoned salt)
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4-1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese (or to taste)
Recipe
- 1 grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
- 2 cook the lamb sausage meat with onion in a skillet until well browned, breaking up meat while cooking, drain fat; set aside.
- 3 spread the bread cubes evenly into the baking dish, then sprinkle the shredded cheese over the bread.
- 4 sprinkle the cooked sausage meat over the cheese.
- 5 in a bowl whisk together the eggs with milk, salt, dry mustard, worcestershire sauce and black pepper; pour evenly over the mixture in the baking dish.
- 6 cover and chill for 8-24 hours.
- 7 let stand 30 minutes at room temperature before baking.
- 8 sprinkle top with grated parmesan cheese.
- 9 set oven to 350 degrees and bake for 45 minutes or until set.
- 10 let stand 5 or more minutes before slicing.
