Chilies Rellenos Bake For 2

Ingredients

- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 (4 ounce) can green chilies
- 2 ounces sharp american cheese, shredded (1/2 cup)
- 3/4 cup cold milk
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 dash hot sauce
Recipe
- 1 in skillet, brown beef and onion; drain off excess fat.
- 2 sprinkle meat with 1/4 teaspoon salt and dash pepper.
- 3 split chilies lengthwise and remove seeds; spread open.
- 4 lay half of chilies on bottom of a shallow 1-quart baking dish.
- 5 sprinkle with cheese; top with meat mixture.
- 6 arrange remaining chilies over meat.
- 7 gradually add milk to flour, stirring till smooth.
- 8 add salt, pepper, eggs, and hot sauce; beat till smooth.
- 9 pour over casserole.
- 10 bake in moderate overn (350 degrees) 45 to 50 minutes or till knife inserted just off center comes out clean.
- 11 pour off excess fat.
- 12 cool 5 minutes.
