Chili Dogs

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 60
  • 10 onions, chopped
  • 20 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 10 lbs lean ground beef
  • 114 ounces ketchup
  • 3 -28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 10 teaspoons chili powder
  • 20 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • salt & pepper
  • 120 hot dogs
  • 120 buns
  • 10 onions, chopped
  • 10 tomatoes, chopped
  • 10 lbs cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • 2 when hot, add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until it is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • 3 add the ground beef, breaking it up with the back of a spoon, and cook until nicely browned, about 10 more minutes.
  • 4 stir in the ketchup, chili powder, and mustard and simmer for 15 minutes until thickened.
  • 5 season with salt and pepper.
  • 6 boil, fry or grill the dogs.
  • 7 serve with the chopped onions, chopped tomatoes and the shredded cheese.
