Chicken With Cheese Filling

Ingredients

  • butter, for greasing pan
  • 8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese, thick slices, cut in half
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons minced onions
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Recipe

  • 1 directions.
  • 2 preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c). lightly coat a large, shallow baking dish with butter.
  • 3 butterfly each breast by slicing in half horizontally through the center, cutting almost but not completely through. cut again to the side, so that you can put cheese in 2 parts.
  • 4 warm cream cheese in saucepan over low heat. add onion, garlic and worcestershire sauce, add a pinch of salt. stir until combined. set aside. place half slice of cheddar and cream cheese spread in the center of each breast. close again as if placing between the pages of a book. place other half of cheddar in the second slit.
  • 5 season breasts with salt and paprika and lemon juice. bake in preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until no longer pink in center and juices run clear.
