Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup vital wheat gluten
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder

Recipe

  • 1 put all the ingredients in the machine according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • 2 for the onion and garlic powders, i don't measure it; i just sprinkle some in to my liking because it makes the dough less plain.
  • 3 do a dough cycle. mine is about 90 minutes hence the cook time.
  • 4 when the dough cycle finishes, extract it and knead on a floured surface, then roll out onto the pizza pan of your choice/use a little and freeze the rest. i use a 16" thin crust pan and use the whole thing.
  • 5 i recommend pre-baking at 400f for 5-7 minutes prior to putting on sauce, cheese, toppings,etc.
  • 6 for a flatter more "thin crust" outcome, use less yeast (about 2 1/4 tsp or 1 tsp.).
