mini wheels with peas, ham and tomato

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (16 ounce) box barilla® mini wheels
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons minced onions
  • 1/3 cup julienned fully cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup frozen peas
  • 4 medium plum tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmigiano-reggiano cheese

    Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins Ready Time: 15 mins

  • bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • in a large skillet saute onions in olive oil over medium heat. add the ham and cook until slightly crispy, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • add the peas and saute for 2 minutes. add the tomatoes; season with salt and pepper.
  • cook pasta according to directions.
  • drain the pasta and toss with sauce and cheese.
